I am a third-year student at Eastern Mennonite University, with a double major in German and Justice Peace and Conflict Studies (JPCS), and a minor in Economics.  In 2004 I took a semester off in order to live in Germany as an Intermenno trainee, working with a host family in southern Germany.  In February I ended the program early in order to complete my German studies with the BCA program in Marburg.  I am now back at EMU, fully immersed in the college life and yet continuously processing my experiences from abroad.

I am involved with EMU cross country and track, intramurals, the German Club, and student government.  I thoroughly enjoy most outdoor activities (especially in good weather!), though running probably makes up 95% of my exercise schedule.  In other words, this summer will be quite the switch!  Regrettably, I will need to end the trip one week early (in my hometown of Youngstown, OH!) due to my cross country commitment at EMU.  However, I am indeed looking forward to this trip, and have been excited about it ever since hearing how Bikemovement might take shape.  I hope it will help me integrate two of my greatest passions:  exercise + active reflection, learning, and conversation.
