Nicholas Cloutier joined for the last fabulous day of Bikemovement. I was impressed by the loving vulnerability and community of the tan, spandex clad crew. I found that it was much easier to bike in the middle of the pack rather than to occupy the “sweeper” position.
Even though it was unsafe at times, I found it worth the risk to ride 2-wide even on the most narrow o’ paths to have some of the best conversation I’ve had in a while. Characteristically, I am not a multitasker, but I couldn’t help myself.
Another good biking spot is the state of Vermont. I invite all Bikemovement members, their friends, families, and loved ones to come and bike. The terrain is somewhat like the Appalachians in Western PA and sometimes it snows (by sometimes I mean all the time). Anyway, I’ll be there at Middlebury for my last year of college. I have to decide my major this year. It will probably be some combination of Philosophy, Theater, Psychology, or Women’s Studies (wait, that’s Sarah’s major).
I was a supporter of Bikemovement from the very beginning, and although I couldn’t be physically present for the entire ride, I was rooting for you. The trip may be finished, but like the spirit of what y’all fostered, “my heart will go on and on” (Celine Dion).
