I am (was) a second grade teacher at Heritage Academy for the past two years.  I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2004, with a teaching degree.  In February 2006 I decided to leave my position at Heritage Academy, in search of another teaching position.  As of June that position has not made it-self known, so I have the summer and the next school year free (besides working for a landscaping company).

I enjoy being outdoors and visiting new places.  I spent a year living in Albuquerque, New Mexico with Service Adventure, before starting college.  Following college graduation I have traveled to Israel, Germany and Switzerland.  I would love to make the list a lot longer.

I had been reading about the bike movement trip, but did not think about the option of taking part, because there is no way I could ride 80 miles a day.  Then to my surprise I was talking with Dave and he mentioned that they were looking for another driver.  The chance was now here to do something different, but was it possible for me to leave during that time.  I prayed hard about this trip and I believe this is an open door that God is showing me, it may not make sense to some (seeing interviews may need to happen at that time, but won’t).  I am letting go of my plans; God has control of my future and this summer (which I am very excited about).

I am very excited to take part in this great movement.  After graduation I find my life lacking in-depth conversation, and I believe that this trip will provide just that.  I also look forward to helping out wherever needed.
