Journal Entries:
Having grown up and attended high school in Harrisonburg, VA, I moved to DC and worked with the Center on Conscience & War for a year. I then settled for serving Baklava and collecting tips at a Greek restaurant before continuing my education at Goshen College where I am currently a junior Bible/Religion major. There are very few things I get more excited about than the Mennonite Church and adventure cycling. When I heard young adults were considering bringing them together in the name of church maturation, renewal and growth, I set aside other plans to take part in the venture. My experience, thus far, participating in and facilitating conversations about young adults in the Mennonite Church and maintaining the locomotive quality of bicycles was enough to make me of some communal value on this trip.
I am excited because I enjoy fixing bikes. I love to get outside and tango with nature. I generally look forward to bathing only in rivers for weeks on end. I love engaging relationally with sweaty Mennonites. And, for a few weeks this summer, I'm going to combine them all in a dynamic, embodied inquiry into the heart of the church---alongside all of you. Thanks for your support.
