I seek God's grace in a broken world.
I celebrate God's goodness in a beautiful world.
I sing God's glory in a brilliant Word.

Two men, Carpus and Papylus, were being interrogated by their Roman captors in the early stages of the Christian movement.  When they asked Carpus for his name, he replied: My name is Christian, for that is my first and chosen name.  They asked Papylus if he had any siblings.  He said: Everywhere I go I have brothers and sisters.
I too claim "Christian" to be my first and chosen name, and I have many brothers and sisters.  Nonetheless, I like my given name Timothy, which in Greek means "one who honors God."

I attend Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA - my hometown.  I love studying all kinds of subjects: Bible and religion, psychology, history, biology.  Returning from a semester cross-cultural trip to the Middle East has given me renewed fascination with the world, new vision for Christ's kingdom, and difficult questions that I continue to struggle with.

Last summer, I explored ministry at Reba Place Fellowship, an intentional Christian community in Chicago.  This summer I have been living in Camden, NJ, where the simple act of gardening has become a ministry of resurrection.  I continue to think about how the family of Christ can live and operate more faithfully, "seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness."

I hope that Bike Movement will become a parable of God's kingdom - a moving, pedaling adventure, both tiring and rewarding, that inspires, excites, incites, challenges, serves... Just as a bicycle has many parts that work together, so we work together for the kingdom of God.  "Let us run with perseverance the race set before us, looking to Jesus."
