After spending three months in Cambodia on a cross-cultural, combined with my current internship with BikeMovement Asia and Franconia Mennonite Conference, I feel like I haven't been "in college" for a long time. When I snap back to reality, I remind myself that I am currently finishing my second year at Goshen College, with a double-major in Communication and Business.
Although I have lived in the same house, rode bike around the same town, and gone to church at the same congregation my entire life, I believe that I have been provided with a certain backbone to go out "into the world." I am thankful to have attended Christopher Dock Mennonite High School (CD) after a nine year relationship with suburban schools -- which I have no regrets about -- but was a refreshing change nonetheless. It was at CD that I developed life-changing relationships with teachers and various mentors from Salford Mennonite congregation, along with the realization of my love for communication and business.
For the past two years I have attended Goshen College (GC), a college I didn't even consider until January of my senior year of high school. GC has begun to teach me time management, as I try to balance my co-curriculars: men's tennis team; work for the public relations, admissions, and development offices; a weekly radio show on WGCS; various editing and student tutoring; homework?.
I signed on with BMA while riding in a small, smelly bus along some random road in the countryside of Cambodia. Tim Showalter and I began talking about the possibility of the group having stateside communication, and after many conversations, emails, and instant messages, here I am. I hope to keep the riders in touch with what's going on here in the North America, and keep you, our support, in touch with what the riders are doing experiencing in Southeast Asia. In short, I will make all of the web updates, handle the public relations duties, and spearhead fundraising initiatives. Send any of your questions, comments, or critiques my way :).
Thanks for visiting the website, and please keep checking back for new pictures and journals!
